We Love Whiskey

On our show we always do two shots. No more. No less. It's kinda right there in the name.

Whiskey is our most popular shot. Fun fact: Whiskey brought us back together after having lost touch for more than a decade. So it holds a special place in our shot glasses. Here are a few of our favorites.

Jameson

We call it "classic Jameson" for a reason. This is the granddaddy of whiskeys and just like a great grandparent it's got a lot to teach us. We show up often to learn the lessons this old fav has to share.

Glendalough

One of Barry's personal favorites, we've pronounced the name a bunch of different ways on the show, but one thing we never get wrong is the blessing of St. Kevin, patron saint of good times. Glendalough is a double barrel whiskey and both barrels are packed with flavor.

Jameson Cold Brew

Is it coffee? Is it whiskey? Is it both? Yes!

Is it elusive? Most definitely!

It's not every day we find Jameson Cold Brew at our local, but when we do we snatch it up. Great for after dinner. Even better when shared with friends.

Tullamore Dew

It's a spring rain in a bottle. With alcohol.

Tullamore Dew is a go to whiskey on the show. It's light enough to make a good shot and full bodied enough to make a great sipper. That kind of versatility earns it a feature most weeks.

Bushmills Black Bush

If you could have a second classic, this would be it. Introduced to the show by Barry and consumed with love by both of us, the Black Bush is a treat for all the senses and makes an equally good shot as it does a sipper.

Roe & Co

A Jason pick for sure, but one that Barry will enjoy on occasion. This is a rare one that may actually taste better neat than on the rocks, which is our preferred way to consumer a sipper. Roe & Co continues to buck the trend in a very good way.

Teeling

Teeling boasts it's a small batch whiskey and we say, the smaller the batch the better, which we mean in the very best way. It brings out an incredibly light flavor that's a treat for the tongue. A bit on the pricey side, but when it's time to splurge, Teeling is a great way to go.

Bushmills - The Original

With Black Bush so highly praised, is it any wonder the original would make this list? It's more to Barry's taste than to Jason's but he won't say no when one is placed in front of him. You can't get to generation 2 without gen 1 so we're happy to have Bushmills Original on the list.

Jameson Black Barrel

Now this one is much loved on the show. It's a clear go-to due to its versatility as both a sipper and a shot. It's not always easy to find at our local, but when we do you best believe we snatch it up.

Writer's Tears

Not the most popular whiskey on the show, but will show up from time to time. If you love yourself a copper pot, you might just enjoy Writer's Tears.

Basil Hayden

The only non-Irish whiskey on the list, but well worth a taste. Basil Hayden Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey shows up strong and bold. So bold in fact, that it's the only whiskey with a belt.
